Why You’ll Love Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet

I love the taste of a good cheeseburger so I turned it into a high protein and fiber skillet meal. Ground beef cooked with onion, paprika, pepper, tomato sauce, and Dijon mustard. Beans add fiber. Pasta cooked in the same skillet for easy clean up!

This Cheeseburger Pasta Skillet is loaded with protein and fiber to keep you full and satisfied. Each serving has 43.5 grams protein and 8.5 grams fiber.

Ingredients

  • Olive oil: healthy oil to sauté onion and garlic.
  • Onion: adds flavor and antioxidants.
  • Garlic: more flavor and antioxidants.
  • Ground beef: main protein source. Use lean ground beef to reduce the fat content or drain the excess fat and rinse to reduce the fat content by 50% following the Texas Beef Council’s guidelines here.
  • Paprika & black pepper: for flavors the make you think of cheeseburgers.
  • Tomato sauce: acting as the ketchup from a burger.
  • Dijon mustard: classic burger flavors.
  • Pasta: the carb source for energy. I used fusilli pasta, but any kind of pasta can be used. This recipe provides 8.5g fiber using regular pasta. You can use a chickpea or lentil pasta to make the meal even higher in fiber.
  • Cannellini beans: the main fiber source. Any white bean works, like Great Northern or chickpea.
  • Shredded cheddar cheese: need to have cheese to make it like a cheeseburger. Also adds extra protein.
  • Pickles (optional): A topping that adds more classic burger flavor.
